When was the last time you looked at your website – really looked at it the way a prospective customer might. If it has been more than a few months, it has probably been too long. In today’s episode, we begin a conversation about auditing your website and outline the design elements you should keep in mind.
In part one, you’ll learn how to audit your web design including:
- Testing responsiveness on all devices – As you audit your web design it is important to remember the wide variety of monitors and devices people will use to access your website.
- Establishing a vertical hierarchy – Especially in a mobile environment you have to make tough choices, something needs to be on top. Don’t let this happen by accident. Lead with your most important information and calls to action,
- Keeping navigation simple and uncluttered – Make it easy for visitors to move through your website to find the information they are looking for. If they get frustrated, they will leave.
