December 25, 2018 – As I write the date, I wonder where the year has gone. It seems as if I was putting the finishing touches on our 2017 holiday letter just a few days ago, and here we are at the end of 2018.

The year has flown by, with lots of changes. There were wonderful hellos and sad goodbyes, good food, fun road trips, and even a new game for the office. So if you haven’t been following our adventures closely this year, here’s a little of what you missed.

Goodbye to Old Friends. Hello New Friends.

Every year, we have to say a few goodbyes. I am always sad to see people go but I excited for them as they head out on their life’s next great adventure. This year, it was Peter’s turn to move on. He and his lovely wife Angela picked up roots and headed to San Antonio. And Melanie is off to school to expand her skills as a programmer and web developer.

We wish them all well on their adventures, but will always welcome them back to join us for a popsicle, cupcake, or cheese break when they are in the area.

While the goodbyes are sad, the hellos are so much fun. This year we welcomed Page to the content team. Diving headfirst into social media for our clients, she still has time to be our “HR” department handing out citations to cats and team members.

Britt has taken on the task of managing our ever-growing list of projects. I can’t decide whether I like her whiteboard or cork board project tracking tools best.

And just a week into her job is Raven, our new web specialist.  The good news, is that we haven’t scared her off yet!

If you haven’t had a chance to meet them, drop by the Meet the Team page or look for them on Twitter.

Food Glorious Food

While we have had lots of changes, one thing which has remained the same is our love of food, all types of food. We always look forward to monthly cheese days, donuts, cupcakes (or fruit if someone is trying to be healthy) for birthdays, and the occasional baking experiment.

This year there were also two Oreo Cookie Taste Offs. The verdict? Kettle Corn and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie are pretty good. Cherry Cola is really strange and Apple Pie Oreo cookies are gross.

Also, a special shout-out to client Frank Belas who dropped by with cheesecake from Shapiro’s to celebrate the launch of his new site.

Road Trips

We love hanging out at the little white house, but every now and then we need to get out for a bit of inspiration, fun, or community involvement. This year included a free preview of Newks Restaurant, a trip to Indie Coffee, a day at the track, the first Digital Toolbox conference, a chance to roll up our sleeves and volunteer at Second Helpings and our annual holiday party at Duck Pin Bowling and Greek Islands.

The Work

In between the trivia questions (this year game master Sam took on the role of Alex Trebek), cat antics ( Benny is always up to something), and cheese day celebrations we actually got work done.

This year we had so many projects I really enjoyed but the one I am most proud of is the new website we launched for Girls Inc. of Indianapolis

I have so much respect for the organization and the work they do. I was honored to be chosen, and just a little nervous about the project. But the team here at the ‘Peg did an awesome job.

We built a beautiful site that will serve this organization well for years to come.

So another year has come and gone and we are looking forward to what 2019 will bring. Wishing all of you a very prosperous and happy new year.

Happy holidays from Team ‘Peg
