Companies with a Mission (CWAM) is a unique blending of social action and business. It was established to accomplish two goals:

  1. Build houses for deserving families in Ensenada, Mexico.
  2. Help business leaders give their employees and their families the opportunity to serve others in a life-changing home build experience.

Our challenge was to build one website for this non-profit association which would tell both stories. We knew we wanted to use many of the photos of the children and families engaged in the program. At the same time, our client also wanted to appeal to the corporate executive who would come to the site to learn more about their program.

We found the perfect canvas using  the Deep Focus Theme by Elegant Themes.  A WordPress theme, its textured background has the feel of a grey flannel suit for the corporate executive. The  large gallery on the homepage displays strong  images, drawing the visitors into the site.

My favorite part of this website are definitely the “call to action” buttons. We typically include this feature in every web design. Usually the graphic is a text treatment designed to complement the logo.  For this site, we used more of the photographs, creating compelling images which will drive visitors to action.  The site was constructed quickly to support their launch this month. I think they have a website which will serve their mission well.
