We had the privilege of starting a web design project from scratch with American Eagle Goals. They produce a line of basketball systems used in backyards, parks, rec centers, and a wide variety of play facilities. Despite a great product and a fun market, there was very little substance to the American Eagle Goals brand. No ads, just a small brochure, and no website. These hoops were ready to play, but needed an impressive entrance to the court.

Jenna put her ace design expertise to work and created an exciting new logo that expresses the company’s core characteristics of strength and American-made quality. This logo forms the foundation of their brand’s new look. AEGoals.com is built to showcase their great product with simple navigation and attractive photo galleries. The brand colors established in the logo are carried throughout this new site to wrap each visitors’ experience in a dark navy and simmering orange. On a new product showcase like this, it’s especially important to keep a consistent look and feel. Using too many alternative styles and colors often dilutes the impact of even the strongest brand and logo.

A highlight of this website project for me was the challenge to integrate a deep portfolio of product photographs. AE Goals wanted to have a site that called attention to the product’s quality and versatility. This meant using high resolution images to give visitors an immediate feel for what the hoop systems look like installed in real driveways and gymnasiums. They provided us with a wide selection of real-world photographs that we sorted and optimized for web. Using powerful tools integrated into the WordPress theme, we gave their pictures a prominent place to call home on the web.
