As we have been working on our website redesign, we have had some interesting discussions.  One of the topics I have struggled with is web site navigation.  What are the main topics we should present to visitors, what are secondary?

While most Web Site navigation is organized logically, from the company perspective with “products,” “services,” “solutions,” etc. grouped together I have seen some really effective navigation schemes based on user groups or customer challenges.  Initial questions help users figure out where to go next.   Example:  Are you a homeowner, builder or contractor?

I ultimately decided my clients are similar enough, that a functional design would be the best approach.  However,  with a WordPress template primary or parent pages and sub pages can be swapped in an instance so I can always change my mind later on.
