Some of the most popular buzz words right now are “Transparency” and “Authenticity” You hear them tossed about as people talk about building your online brand. But what do they really mean? How can you be transparent and authentic and still professional.
Chris Brogan wrote a great post on this topic, with several really good suggestions. His list included:
- Be who you are, not an icon.
- Speak like a human.
- Go where the people are.
- Be ready to apologize.
- Ask about other people.
- Be helpful.
- Be there before the sale.
To his list, I would add: Be there after the sale as well. Treat your former customers as if they were your hottest prospect, and they may become one again!
