Walt Goshert of the Marketing Caddy has become one of my favorite blogs.  I routinely find information and ideas about marketing for small business, worth sharing.

In this post he talks about the importance of creating a viral marketing strategy.  He offers six rules, which feel a lot like Seth Godin, and explanation on how to apply those rules:

  1. Gives away products or services
  2. Provides for effortless transfer to others
  3. Scales easily from small to very large
  4. Exploits common motivations and behaviors
  5. Utilizes existing communication networks
  6. Takes advantage of others’ resources
