Michael Meyers of Meyers Sales and Marketing approached us with a web design challenge this spring.  He was unhappy with his company website.  The look was tired and out of date, but worse than the look, was the difficulty in updating the core site.  As a  manufacturer’s representative  for more then 30 companies, there were always new items, new specials, and new catalogs.   Their web design firm just couldn’t keep up.

Our first challenge was to find a great theme we could use as a foundation.  We chose Platinum 1.0 by StudioPress because it gave us such a clean fresh canvas to work with.   We also updated their color scheme from the dated blue and green to a fresher light orange and a darker blue.  While we maintained the logo, we did freshen the color scheme and create a more interesting text treatment.

The biggest challenge  was the number of catalogs that needed to be featured on the site.   Developing a structure which would allow clients to quickly find the products they were searching for was critical.  We experimented with various versions of WP-table, which would provide search capabilities, but ultimately, the client chose a simple table function which allowed us to show off the covers of the catalogs.

The site went live recently, and I can’t wait to hear what type of results they are seeing.
